"Lamb to the Slaughter" Irony Paragraph.

For example, she fed the lamb leg which was the murder weapon to the detectives. This shows that it's dramitic irony because we know that the meat that the cops are eating was the actual murder weapon. This also shows that this is memorable to the readers because they know she killed her husband but the readers do not. In addition, she goes to the store and pretends that she is going to cool dinner for her dead husband. This shows that this shows that it is situational irony because she made the cops believe that she was not the killer but actually she was. This also shows that she acted like she did not kill her husband and she wanted to cook a nice dinner. In conclusion, readers enjoy stories when people behave unexpectidly.

Notes from a Bottle" Ambiguity Paragraph

In "Notes from a Bottle," James Stevenson's use of ambiguity engages the reader. For example, "There has been constant speculation on the cause of the flood." This makes the reader to want to figure out what is causing the water to rise. This also shows the cause of the flood is ambigious to the people in the story because they only have ideas about the cause, but no one really knows. In addition, "the children, as usual, are riding their bikes up and down the hall." This leads the reader to find out why the children were playing while the water was rising, because it seems illogical. This also shows that the parents' reasons for allowing their children to play is ambigious because they are playing instead of worrying or saving themselves. In conclusion, the reader is drawn in by the abiguity.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 15

Cell phones are not safe to use while driving. Because the concept of driving requires two hands, and full attention on the road and your surroundings. Texting relates to drunk driving because they both cause people to get in serious accidents or loss of life because the driver isn't focused on the road. It is difficult to assess driving situations while texting. A vehicle is a weapon, and behind the hands of a driving texter, it could be fatal.
