"Lamb to the Slaughter" Irony Paragraph.

For example, she fed the lamb leg which was the murder weapon to the detectives. This shows that it's dramitic irony because we know that the meat that the cops are eating was the actual murder weapon. This also shows that this is memorable to the readers because they know she killed her husband but the readers do not. In addition, she goes to the store and pretends that she is going to cool dinner for her dead husband. This shows that this shows that it is situational irony because she made the cops believe that she was not the killer but actually she was. This also shows that she acted like she did not kill her husband and she wanted to cook a nice dinner. In conclusion, readers enjoy stories when people behave unexpectidly.

Notes from a Bottle" Ambiguity Paragraph

In "Notes from a Bottle," James Stevenson's use of ambiguity engages the reader. For example, "There has been constant speculation on the cause of the flood." This makes the reader to want to figure out what is causing the water to rise. This also shows the cause of the flood is ambigious to the people in the story because they only have ideas about the cause, but no one really knows. In addition, "the children, as usual, are riding their bikes up and down the hall." This leads the reader to find out why the children were playing while the water was rising, because it seems illogical. This also shows that the parents' reasons for allowing their children to play is ambigious because they are playing instead of worrying or saving themselves. In conclusion, the reader is drawn in by the abiguity.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 15

Cell phones are not safe to use while driving. Because the concept of driving requires two hands, and full attention on the road and your surroundings. Texting relates to drunk driving because they both cause people to get in serious accidents or loss of life because the driver isn't focused on the road. It is difficult to assess driving situations while texting. A vehicle is a weapon, and behind the hands of a driving texter, it could be fatal.

Academic Language Written Assessment Week 9

Junk food should not be banned from high school vending machines.
For example, by banning junk foods from school vending machines people could gain more weight cause they don't want to eat the healthy foods.
This shows that if you don't eat even unhealthy food you can still gain more weight.
This also shows that unhealthy food is better then them not eating at all.
In addition, schools would just be wasting money if the kids did not eat the healthy foods.
This shows that the schools would possibly loose money.
This also shows that some schools would loose money if kids did not by food if it was healthy.
In conclusion, school's should not bann junk food from school vending machines.

The Walking Dead Review

After six months or so The Walking Dead came back on air. The first episode of the third season was just amazing. It was definatley worth the wait i am glad it came back on. But the episode is somewhat the same story line and the comic but twisted in some sick cool way. I can tell it is going to be a sick season there is not a doubt that The Walking Dead is gonna have a sick season.

Youtube blocked

I think that youtube should not be blocked or restricted from use at school. It should not be because there are some really good outcomes of youtube like it could help summerize and huge historical event that happened. Also youtube should not be considered a social networking site because all you do is watch videos and comment just like you do on a blogger site and your name is not out there you can make up a fake name. Also bennifits of youtube could help student that are more of a visual learner then a reader type or learner. This is why i think youtube should not be blocked on or for school purposes.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead is the best tv show out there. It is the best because it is a mix of a lot of genre's likedrama, horror, and suspence. Also it is the best because it has to do with zombies and the zombie apacolypes. It also is the number one top rated show in america. It has approximently 10 million likes on Facebook. Its is also a really good show because it is based off of the comics and the comic books were really good.

JCCS Academic Language Assessment Week 5

Vaccinations should be required for all students.
For example, if a student gets the flu then there is a chance that he/she will pass it to other students and teachers and then they will pass it then will ILLASTRATE why we need vacines.
This shows that if one person were to get sick because they do no get vacinated how fast it could spread.
This also shows that if it were to go around that fast that there are possibilites that peopl could die.
In addition, vacines are a POSITIVE thing that everyone should be required to have/get.
This shows that if everyone does their part and get vacinated there would be less people getting sick/dieing.
This also shows that we would have a better ESTIMATE on healthier people.
In conclusion, vacinathould be a requirment due to these purposes.

Academic Language Assessment Week 3

Yes, I do think that parent should FOCUS on regulating their child's health. Obesity can lead to diseases such as diabetes and heart conditions. It can also cause depression for people that are obese. A big asspect of health CONSISTS of diet and exercise. By preparing nutritious meals and promoting exercise parents can teach their child  APPROPRIATE ways to be healthy.

Academic Vocab Paragraph Week 2

Someone should go to jail for harassing someone via TEXT message or social networking site. They should be arrested because they could AFFECT the person there're harassing harm them self or others. Also another reason is the person being harassed could be getting threatened to get beat up or killed. There has been people that have killed them self because they were bullied over social networking sites like there was a 13 year old girl who hung herself because she was being bullied by peers over a social networking site. Some kids have bullied kids saying they were going to beat another kid up. That is why people should be arrested for cyber bullying i think that is a good way to MAINTAIN cyber bullying.

At the begining of  my freshman year, I was angry and  a little anti social. Now, I am less angry and a little bit mor social. For example, This shows that i have worked on my anger and being social. Academic Vocab Practice Paragraph 32

No students should not have to take a high school exit exam. They should not because what if the kid moved around a lot and he/she might not have gotten all the basic stuff they should know. Also if a student has been working so hard and they can not get there diploma because of a exam defeats the whole purpose of them working hard for that whole time. They should not have to take the exam because if they fail it and end up not getting there diploma for it they might feel like a failure and get teased or not even find a decent job because of it. Giving a student an exit exam is not a good idea because if they maintain there grades and do good they should be able to pass not have it be decided on and exam.

Practice Paragraph Week 26

No, I would not want a car that drives itself. Part of being a teenager and growing up includes driving. It would prove that society is getting lazy. Another reason is because the machine can have a malfunction and cause collisions. One last reson why I would not want a car that drives itself is people would forget how to drive. In conclusion, cars that drive themselves would not be safe.

Academic vocab week 25

I think that adults should be able to carry a concealed handguns. A person would be JUSTIFIED to carry a weapon if they are living in a dangerous place. Laws should be ESTABLISHED to keep people with mental problems from getting access to a handgun. People that INDICATE that they have any sort of mental diseases  should not have the right to carry any  sort of weapons  especially handguns. But i think that people that show acceptable behavior and do not disrespect that weapon or anyone that they are going to hurt or kill them should be allowed to have handguns.

Persuasive Essay

Persuasive Essay
Not everyone needs to go to college, but school just focuses on college.  At San Pasqual Academy, woodshop class used to be offered with Mr. English.  Now, there are no shop classes.  San Pasqual Academy should offer autoshop and woodshop courses on campus.

Shop classes prepare kids for jobs.  It makes sense because everyone will always need a mechanic, because cars always break down.  Additionally, the economy is going bad so not everyone can afford a new car.  Some adults may not want students to become mechanics because they think people need to go to college to earn money. However, my dad was a mechanic at Young Pontiac Cadillac.  He made $22 an hour by fixing cars.  Mechanics earn enough money to pay the bills and get by.
Shop classes should be offered because not everyone is going to college.  It is unfair to think everyone will go to college.   Teachers push students to go to college, but many graduates end up homeless.
Someone will always want to take auto shop. Its fair to have other class not just a limited amount.   At SPA, we only have a few electives to choose from, such as dance, yearbook, ASB, Spanish, and art. Because working on cars might have sentimanetal value to kids.
For some students manual labor can ease their mind from other stressful situations. It give kids something to do and gives people self confidence. By offer this new new class, students will also be more successful.

Narrator Assessment Project

Thanksgiving dinner

First-Person Narration from Isiah’s Point of View
On Thanksgiving my aunt cooked this as she does every year. She cooks because my uncle has to work on Thanksgiving day. She woke up at 6 in the morning and started cooking. She finish everything by about 11. So we had thanksgiving lunch instead of dinner. My family was there like my little brother, mom, and dad, and of course my aunt and little cousin and my uncle was working. This Thanksgiving we had food such as turkey, of course green bean cassorole,  croissants, stuffing, vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy, peppercorn sauce, and two pies. I had a good Thanksgiving. Then I came back to this place that some people call home.

Third-Person Narration Focused on Isiah
On Thanksgiving Isiah felt happy. He felt happy because he was going to be spending it with his family. He was happy because he was going to be off this dumb campus and have some good food for a change. He had a good time to be with his little brother and mom and dad that he haven’t been with in under 2 years. Isiah was all so happy to see his uncle aunt and cousin. But he sees them every weekend so it was not as exciting as seeing his parents and little brother. So over all Isiah had a good thanksgiving with his family and all the good food and just being with his family was the best part of it all.
